Joseph H. Rainey Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Mr. Joseph Rainey in memory of his uncle, Dr. John Pratt a 1939 College of Medicine alumnus, who was a general practitioner in York County. Dr. Pratt, past president of the College of Medicine Alumni Association Board, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award for his service to the profession. He also served on the MUSC Board of Trustees, as well as the MUSC Foundation Board.

Selection Criteria:

• Need
• Preference given to York County, SC natives or residents
• Recipients are encouraged to commit to engage in their medical practice in York County, SC
• Awarded to an incoming student with continuation, pending satisfactory academic and professionalism progress
