Dr. Rupert L. Green Endowed Scholarship in Public Health Science

Rupert L. Green, PhD was a well-loved faculty member in the College of Medicine for many years. He interviewed applicants, taught, and mentored many students over the years. An excellent teacher who won the “Golden Apple”, the highest award for teaching medical students, many times over his career, he taught physiology, specifically cardiovascular/cardiology. Dr. Green was well liked by medical students, and he knew most by name. He was well known for his stories during lecture, which made physiology come to life. In honor of his outstanding career in academic medicine, Dr. Green’s wife, Carol, has established this scholarship for students in public health science.
