George C. McTeer Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship is in honor of the late Dr. George McTeer, Charleston resident and dental advocate. Dr. McTeer was a 1974 alumnus of the College of Dental Medicine and first African-American dentist to graduate from MUSC. This scholarship will be awarded to student who demonstrates financial need and embodies Dr. McTeer’s positivity and professionalism. In furtherance of the University’s commitment to improve health outcomes for all South Carolinians and to encourage those who are inspired to serve in rural, economically disadvantaged, or medically underserved communities, this scholarship is offered with preference given to individuals with a service history in rural or medically underserved areas.
