Ronald V. and Susan Wade Scholarship Fund
Ronald V. Wade, MD received his BS from Furman University in 1966 and was the first honor graduate at the MUSC College of Medicine Class of 1970. He completed his internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) in Charlotte in 1976. He served as Vice Chair for the Department of ObGyn at the University of South Carolina. In 1988, he was named Chair of the Department of ObGyn and Medical Director of the Women’s Institute at CMC. Dr. Wade later became Director of Medical Education and the Senior VP for Medical Education and Research for Carolinas HealthCare System. He and his wife, Susan, have made a planned gift in support of an endowed scholarship for a College of Medicine student. This expendable fund will allow medical students to receive scholarships in the year prior to the planned gift being executed.
