RHN Community Scholarship

The RHN Community Scholarship supports medical students who complete eligible clinical experiences within MUSC’s Regional Health Network. Through these immersive clinical experiences, students gain firsthand exposure to the unique healthcare needs, challenges, and opportunities for patients throughout the state. In the regional hospital settings, students attain a better understanding of patient care outside of an academic center while working alongside dedicated physicians and healthcare teams.

The scholarship recognizes and encourages students who engage in meaningful clinical training experiences that broaden their understanding of healthcare delivery in varied settings and strengthen their commitment to serving patients and communities across South Carolina. By participating in clinical experiences within RHN sites, students enhance their clinical skills, develop a deeper appreciation for rural and underserved populations, and contribute to the future healthcare workforce needs of the state.

This scholarship reflects the College of Medicine’s commitment to expanding clinical learning opportunities throughout South Carolina and fostering a physician workforce prepared to meet the healthcare needs of all communities.

Scholarship recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress with no professionalism issues.
